Kepler's SNR

The remnant of SN 1604, the most recent supernova observed in the Milky Way with the naked eye. Studied by Johannes Kepler for over a year. About 20,000 light-years away; multi-wavelength observations show it was a Type Ia thermonuclear explosion.
