Orion Complex

A vast star-forming region of molecular gas and dust spanning hundreds of light-years in Orion, 1000-1400 light-years away — the nearest site of massive star formation. It hosts the Orion Nebula, the Horsehead Nebula and hundreds of young protostars, all part of the same cloud system that has been forming stars for over ten million years.
