Pistol Star

A blue hypergiant in the Quintuplet Cluster near the Galactic Center, ~25,000 light-years away. Radiates roughly 1.6 million L☉ and is surrounded by the Pistol Nebula — material it shed in past episodic eruptions. Hidden from visible light by intervening dust.
